Kubsa’s story began with trauma and separation, but he is now enveloped in the loving care of a mom, dad and three big sisters.  His new name is Samuel.  He has a miracle story of how God saw him left outside a church, how he was rescued and placed in safe place, and then chosen to be the son and little brother of a God-honoring family.  Our Father’s heart for orphans is displayed once more.

Dinka and Genet attend a church in Addis Ababa that champions adoption.  Their pastor adopted a child from our orphanage and several others have taken up his challenge to care for the orphaned children in Ethiopia.

When his new family came to the orphanage to meet Samuel and take him home, his 10-year-old sister was moved by all the babies left behind.  Before leaving, she prayed in earnest for all the children to be adopted and gave thanks for the workers at the orphanage.  Her sincere prayer and blessing profoundly touched and encouraged the orphanage staff.

Samuel’s adoption on December 29th brought total adoptions from our Joyful Place orphanage in 2023 to 19!!  Nineteen little children found abandoned are now lovingly ensconced in a forever family of their own.   We never tire of thanking God for His mercies that redeem broken stories.
