School here in the U.S. looks very different this year. Distance learning or wearing masks and sitting far apart in class make this school year unlike any other. There is no distance learning in Ethiopia, but the government has allowed students to register for in-person school (with restrictions) and classes will hopefully begin in October.
The children who graduated from our little kindergarten last spring (after a much-shortened school year due to Covid) will be entering first grade at the public school. Most all of their families are unable to pay the required fees or purchase necessary uniforms, textbooks and school supplies.
Together we can help continue the education that is so vital for thriving kids. It takes only $60 to provide everything a child needs for a full year of learning at a local elementary school.
