Two precious baby boys are at home with their new families today.
At just about one month old, Rebira was found lying on the ground in the bushes surrounding a warehouse in Shashemene. A man walking home heard his cries and immediately took the baby home to his wife so he would be fed. They gave him milk and called the police who, under the direction of the Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Affairs, placed him at our orphanage.
Our staff began praying and we found a big-hearted donor in the U.S. to sponsor him monthly so that we could provide him with the formula and care he needed.
Alem and Fitsum were not able to have biological children and are absolutely thrilled to call Rebira their son!
Falmata’s story is very similar… he was left on the ground near a military camp and found by a woman walking down the road. Falmata appeared to be healthy and was wrapped in a clean towel. It was estimated that he was about 15 days old when he was brought to our Joyful Place orphanage.
Our nannies went to work doing what they do so well – loving on Falmata and meeting all his needs. His sponsor helped provide the formula he so desperately needed.
Sisay and Birzegen wanted to create a family through adoption and are overjoyed to welcome Falmata to their home as their much-loved son.
I delivered the poor who cried for help and the fatherless who had none to help him.
Job 29:12
Thank you for your prayers for our babies – a newly abandoned baby, 4 months old, arrived soon after these boys were adopted. And special thanks to Rebira and Falmata’s sponsors who will now get another prayer card and child to support!
