We are in the midst of creating some graphics for the classroom walls at our kindergarten in Ethiopia and we would LOVE to include illustrations by any budding artists in your house, grades K-12. You can submit drawings based on some specific guidelines (below) and we will be so grateful to consider their submissions for our school.
We’re hoping this will be a really fun way to connect your kids with the ongoing outreach of NewLife Ethiopia. Take a look at the guidelines we’ve provided and see if your children would like to help us provide a beginning reader alphabet graphic to help the kinders learn the basics in their own language.
All submissions are due by May 31st and drawings submitted cannot be returned to you. We’ll choose the best ones to use for our classroom display.
(following these will increase the chance that your drawing will be chosen)
- Use crayon or marker
- Must be bright, colorful, happy and simple (small details won’t show up on the wall)
- Think Ethiopian rather than American!
- Each illustration fills an 8½x11 (letter sized) horizontal paper
Items we need drawings of for the first stage of our project (we’ll be making early reader books in the months to come and will need illustrations for those as well!):
Submit up to one drawing of each the above items or choose just a few.
Write your first and last name on the back of your drawing in pencil… we want to know who the artist is! *Remember that these drawings will not be returned to you and there are no guarantees we will use your picture.
Place drawings in a large envelope with something stiff inside to protect them – please don’t fold them! Send your completed drawings to us by May 31, 2020. Send to:
