Right now our Joyful Place Orphanage is home to 15 abandoned children.  These precious little ones are seen and known by the Father.  He has given us the privilege, with your help, to care tenderly for each one until we can find a family in Ethiopia to adopt them.

In this time of upheaval – in Ethiopia as well as across the globe – the challenges to access food and supplies have increased greatly.  Stores and markets are shutting down due to virus concerns.  It is impossible to purchase formula anywhere in the country and there is not enough backlog in the orphanage to meet the needs of our littlest babies.  Cow milk is also scarce.   A team from Lighthouse Church in Puyallup who were taking formula had to cancel their trip in April.  Formula cannot be shipped from the U.S. as items shipped are most often ‘quarantined’ in Customs and held for exorbitant ‘taxes.’  The truth is we need a miracle to keep our children fed and healthy.

Psalm 68:5  Father to the fatherless, defender of widows – this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
He who numbers the hairs on our head will certainly not turn away from children living without parents or family.  God is their great protector and loving father.

Psalm 68:6  God places the lonely in families.
God’s ideal place is for children to be raised in a family of their own.

Deuteronomy 10:18  God ensures that orphans and widows receive justice.
That even one child does not know the love of a family is a great injustice.

James 1:27  Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress.

We covet your prayers for our staff and these babies: Rameto, Addis, Gemechis, Chala, Robson, Rebira, Abiy, Sifile, Falmata, Roba, Sengi, Semira, Hawi, Wako and Yosef.

God calls His people (us!) to actively meet the needs of orphaned children.  A great way to do this is by asking our Heavenly Father for:

• A miracle of provision for formula
• Physical protection from contagions for nannies, nurse, cleaners, cook, guards – all who come in contact with our little ones.
• A permanent, godly, Ethiopian family for every child.
