An abandoned baby, limp and unresponsive, was brought to our Joyful Place orphanage.  The nannies pride themselves on restoring weak, throw-away babies to health; they immediately began nurturing this wee one, calling her Dureti.  Dureti gained some weight but remained unresponsive and frail.  She had trouble moving her head from side to side.  The doctor confirmed a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and deafness.  Joyful Place is not equipped to care for special needs children, but partners with a wonderful orphanage about two hours away who does.  We were able to transfer this little one into the very capable care of Uryadi’s Village where she receives masterful care overseen by doctors and therapists.

Overwhelming needs to skilled and tender care.

Here at the start of a new year, we are sharing just a few of the hundreds of life stories that have changed because of God’s grace and your support in 2019.  You have a place in the life stories of so many in Ethiopia!
