A beautiful baby boy – perhaps two weeks old – was left on the ground behind a mosque. He weighed only 5½ pounds but was otherwise healthy. The police intervened and brought him to our orphanage in March of this year. The baby was named Abdissa, which means “His hope”, and we began praying for just the right family to adopt him.

Asfaw is a teacher and Serkalem runs a small café. They have always wished to have a child of their own but were unable.
They are so thrilled to be able to adopt Abdissa and their large extended family have also embraced this new blessing.
Sing praises to God and to His name! Sing loud praises to Him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord—rejoice in His presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families!
